Rachel Lane Walden was awarded SC/MLA’s Jocelyn Rankin Memorial Scholarship
Rachel Lane Walden, MLIS (Eskind Biomedical Library, Vanderbilt University) was awarded SC/MLA’s Jocelyn Rankin Memorial Scholarship, which provided funds for her to attend a research-related workshop.
Here, she describes the workshop and its impact.
As the Southern Chapter MLA recipient of the 2016/2017 Jocelyn Rankin Memorial Scholarship, I received support for travel costs for a trip to New York City April 17th and 18th to attend the two-day workshop for Systematic Reviews: Opportunities for Librarians. The workshop was given by the Taubman Health Sciences Library at the University of Michigan Library in partnership with National Library of Medicine GMR. The workshop consisted of 8 online modules, a capstone project and then the 2 day in person workshop at the Metropolitan New York Library Council office building. I was joined at this training seminar by 25 other health science librarians from around the country.
